Member for Shortland, the Hon Pat Conroy MP, last Friday (1 May) officially opened upgrades to classrooms and outdoor learning spaces at the Lakeside School, Gateshead which will enhance therapeutic and inclusive learning environments for students.
The project included the refurbishment of classrooms, including acoustic improvements in the learning areas and removal from within buildings; and outdoor upgrades which included the construction of a new playground area with new shade sails and new sensory and play equipment.
The project was delivered with the Albanese Government’s funding of $400,000 through the Schools Upgrade Fund Round 2.
